What is the CeKR card?
The CeKR card is a very unique and useful card for use in the City of Kranj. It enables the identification of users and the payment of services and goods anywhere in the world or on the internet – physically or virtually, with the help of your smart phone. In the near future, it will also allow users to earn rewards and discounts thanks to a benefits system.

Identification with CeKR
The use and payment of various public and other services will become a lot easier by using just one card or application; the borrowing of library books, hire of city bikes, use of public transportation, car parking, sightseeing and more. You will no longer have to search for a specific card to use these services, just one will suffice – CeKR.
Payment with CeKR
- The CeKR city card is a prepaid payment card for use in the City of Kranj. It is based on the international Visa payment system, while the proper, safe, legal and compliant operation of the card is assured by NLB, d.d., the largest banking and financial group in Slovenia.
- A prepaid card allows you to simply transfer as many funds to it as you want (the limit is 1,000 euros per month).
- According to current standards, Visa provides the most secure payment for goods and services online and anywhere in the world: physically – with a card – or virtually – with the card added to your smart phone (i.e. Google Wallet). That is among the reasons why a high level of user identification is required (tax number, two-step authentication, Rekono, 2FA …) when ordering or using the card.
- NLB, d.d., enabled the development of the CeKR banking product – the production and the technical implementation as well as the legal operation. Holders of a CeKR city card do not automatically become clients of NLB bank.
